Summary

The project "Support children on the path to education" provides support to more than 764 children, 362 of them girls, to the development by providing a safe environment for learning. The children of the village "Obi borik" in Central Asia (Tajikistan) study in school, which are estimated by specialists to have a high risk of danger and stays in emergency condition, due to the old constructions of the buildings it could collapse at any moment.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

In a far village "Obi Borik" of Central Asia, children do not have a normal place to study. More than 764 children, from age 7 to 15 years study in school, which was built in 1954. Children are taught in classrooms under a high risk of fracture. The children from poor families, for the sake of studying, put themselves at risk of freezing, various diseases, because classrooms in this school are not repaired within 50 years.

How will this project solve this problem?

The project aims at mobilizing the rural population for the construction and repair of school classrooms. By attracting donor support will be purchased construction materials for strengthening and building the walls of school, which currently can fall at any time. It will be built 20 classrooms for 362 girls and 402 boys, will also be built a small school library and the books will be purchased, also planned the construction of a small sport hall for children.

Potential Long Term Impact

The school built in 1954 is older than the grandfathers of schoolchildren studying in this school. There is no normal and safe place for the study, the wall of rooms are fallen, water flows from the roof just inside the rooms. The project aim is to help to build 20 classrooms and construct school libraries, which will give a long term effect for improving education conditions of 764 children. This gives hope for the future of the childs and thousands of schoolchidren will use new classrooms.
